Privacy and Information Policy
Information is the backbone of the Australian Morris 850 Register - without it, there would be no register. We desire to be fully transparent on what information we collect and how we handle it, giving confidence to contributors and ensuring trust in the register.
This policy outlines the personal and car-related information we collect and process to carry out the functions of the Australian Morris 850 Register.
In short, we may publicly share any car-related information held on the register, but we will never publicly share personal information held about you without your consent.
Types of information
Two types of information are considered in the context of the Australian Morris 850 Register – personal information and car-related information.
Personal information is information that identifies an individual. Examples of personal information can include names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses.
Car-related information is information that identifies an Australian-produced Morris 850 (a ‘car’) and any associated information or photos related to that car. Examples of car-related information include car number, engine number, colour, and delivery date.
Collection of information
We collect personal information for the primary purpose of providing register services to you, including (but not limited to) correspondence in relation to cars submitted to the register by you.
Personal information may be obtained in many ways, including directly from you by online forms, emails and communications, or other publicly available sources.
We collect car-related information for the primary purpose of building and analysing a database of production details for Australian Morris 850 cars.
Car-related information may be obtained in many ways, including directly from users by online forms, emails, social media, in person, or other publicly available or private sources.
Use of information
Your personal information will be used for reasons including:
- to contact you in relation to cars that you have submitted to the register.
- to provide important updates on the Australian Morris 850 Register that are deemed relevant to you.
Your personal information will not be provided to a third party enquiring about a car that you have submitted, unless you have provided consent.
Car-related information will be used to build a public database of production and other details of Australian produced Morris 850. The register may be analysed, and the resulting information publicly shared.
Disclosure of information
If there is a change of registrar/s for the Australian Morris 850 Register, we may transfer our database, including all personal information contained in those databases, to the future managing registrar/s.
With exception of the above situation, we will not sell, distribute, or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission, or are required by law to do so.
All car-related information may be publicly published, including (but not limited to) on eight-fifty.com.
Any car-related information held about a car may be shared with a third party upon reasonable request.
Access to and correction of information
You may request details of personal information that we hold about you.
It is important to us that your information is up to date. If you find that the information we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise us so we can update our records.
Car-related information can be accessed by viewing the published register list and supporting individual profile pages.
To confirm availability and request access to any further information not published, you may request details of information that we hold about a car.
Storage and security
We are committed to ensuring that all information is safe and secure.
To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we take all reasonable steps to safeguard and secure the information and protect it. Information may be held in electronic or hard copy form.
Updates, feedback and enquiries
We may make changes to this policy from time to time as required. The most up to date version will be published on the website, available at eight-fifty.com/privacy.
